After a rough weekend, an offer of a free ticket to watch Chris Rock talk about his new TIFF documentary seemed like just the thing to get me out of a slump.
His new film, and first documentary "Good Hair" is currently showing at the Toronto Internationl Film Festival, and will be opening in theatres in October. I haven't seen it yet, but the trailer alone made me want to see it.
And then of course - there was Chris Rock - who was a (not surprising) crowd pleaser in his hour long talk about the film, and anything else from Transformers to sneaking into the White House.
Although he wasn't the lively Chris Rock we all know from his standup, he still had the audience laughing with his quick wit and funny stories.
The best one in my opinion was when he snuck into the White House with the help of a black security guard who loves his work. The only thing Chris Rock was interested in seeing was where Bill Clinton got his blow job LOL.
At some point in the discussion Chris admitted that he loves all kinds of movies, including Transformers. Later, when the audience had a chance to ask questions, some dumbass white girl brought up Transformers again and asked him what he thought about the only "black" Transformer dying in the film.
Chris' reply: "What I'm wondering is how the hell you got in here? In a TIFF event? This ain't Comicon." And then he didn't asnwer her question.
He definitely lives up to his last name :)
